Marriage

“A man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh.”  Mk 10:7-8

“The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.”  Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1601

Dear Friends,

CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement!

The pastor, staff and parishioners of St. Louis Parish are happy for you as you prepare to live the great Sacrament of Marriage.  The first step in preparing your marriage is to schedule an initial meeting with Fr. Hjelstrom who will guide you through the marriage  preparation process. The following months of preparation will help you to deepen your understanding of each other and to grow in faith as to live as intentional disciples of Jesus Christ.

Initial Considerations:

  • Please be sure to have your initial meeting with the pastor, Fr. Tim Hjelstrom before setting any date or making any reservations for reception venues.
  • Please note that there is a minimum of nine months of preparation required by the Archdiocese of Denver, whether the marriage is taking place at St. Louis parish or at another parish.

Contact St. Louis Parish at 303.666.6401 or email ldomenico@stlp.org. We look forward to helping you prepare to live this sacred partnership of  your life, the Sacrament of Marriage.
