Parish Life & Other Church Ministries

Altar & Rosary Society

The Altar and Rosary Society is a ministry in which all women of  the parish are invited and encouraged to join.  The Altar and Rosary organization has three main goals: 1) to maintain the sanctuary; 2) to provide spiritual and social benefits for women of the parish; and 3) to support the pastor in the needs of the church. We look for ways to increase our membership through church and school interaction.  Vital services to the parish include the following:

  • Promoting the sanctity and recitation of the rosary.
  • Promoting a closer relationship between women of the parish through involvement in Christian activities and social events.
  • Maintaining the altar.
  • Purchasing, laundering, and repairing the altar cloths, linens and altar robes.
  • Fundraising for various philanthropic concerns such as rosaries for prison ministries and Pro-life charities.
  • Purchasing flowers for the church.
  • Providing funeral lunches with the Martha’s organization.

Since its inception, the Altar and Rosary Society has taken responsibility to care for God’s House and provide for His children.  Annual dues are $10.00,  collected in January. We welcome all women of the Parish. It is a good opportunity to meet new people and be involved in our special group.  Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month September through May at 9:00 AM in the parish office.

Come join us in our ministry! Call Tina McLaren at 303.667.5650 or Anne Steiner at 303.717.9981 for more information.

Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus is very much a grassroots organization with the goal to strengthen themselves and each other in faith, to be a strong pillar of support for their priests and bishops, and to be of service to the Church and community.  Once a month the Knights of Columbus provide a pancake breakfast for the St. Louis parishioners and throughout the year organize various service projects such as food and clothing drives, and donate proceeds from fundraisers to local charities.

About the Council—Saint Louis Council was founded in 1996 through the efforts of Fred Russo. It is named after Saint Louis, the Patron of our Parish in Louisville. Council meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm in the church basement.

For information regarding membership to the Council, please email: chrisdotgiles@gmail.com

About the Assembly—The Assembly is comprised of Knights of Columbus who have attained the rank of 4th Degree–the highest degree of the order. The most recognizable component of an assembly is the Color Corps–the tuxedo wearing, sword carrying, chapeaux hatted men who are sometimes seen at special events of the Church.  Assembly meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday bi-monthly at 7pm in the church basement.
